My name is Daniel Smith and I'm a freelance web designer and developer based in Jonesboro, GA. I been in this field for four years now and I certainly enjoy what the art of creation! I am currently working on my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Web Design and Interactive Media at the Art Institute of Atlanta.

I got in this field because of a growing passion I had towards technology. However, I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do until my high school years. As a senior, I took a class teaching us about computer components and one of our projects involved developing a website. Back then, we used Microsoft Front Page and Yahoo Geocities. This is where I first learned about website design and also where I fell in love with it!

From then on I tried to learn as much as I could about how to enter the industry, so I found someone who taught me a lot about it. Having a mentor is essential to being successful in anything you truly desire in life and have a passion for. Mine introduced me to the software most used by graphic and website designers. He stated, “you have to always use the Cadillac software if you want people to take

you serious…and pay you."

He told me about Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash, and so many more. I realized that practice makes perfect and by using these programs I knew then I wanted to make website design and development my career and immediately enrolled at the Art Instutute of Atlanta in January 2009.

As a student, I have learned so much about the world of creating based on passion and fulfilling the visual dreams of those who need me to do work for me. I draw most of my creativity and inspiration from clean, colorful, and aesthetic websites that use a great deal of patterns and textures. To me, it's realism at its best!

In addition to my edgy graphic design and savvy web skills, I am a very easy going type of guy who is very serious and passionate about what he does. That's my main drive and I have turned my passion into a career. So, the next time you think about hiring a website and/or graphic designer – think of me and I promise not to let you down!
